#PowerPlatformTip 25: 'Weekly tips, insights and updates'
TL;DR: Subscribe to Power Platform Weekly (makers and admins) and Power Platform Dev Weekly (developers) for curated community content. For official changes, follow the Power Platform blog, the release plans, the released versions notes and, as an admin, the Message center.
💡 Challenge
New features, renamed menus, deprecations and community solutions appear every week across blogs, videos, docs and admin notices. Following all of it yourself takes hours, and missing a deprecation notice can break a production flow.
✅ Solution
Split the job in two: community newsletters filter the best articles and videos for you, and a short list of official Microsoft sources tells you what actually changes in the product.
🔧 How It’s Done
1. Subscribe to the community newsletters.
🔸 Power Platform Weekly: a Substack newsletter curated by a team of community members, with links to Microsoft and community resources for makers and admins. New issues arrive on Mondays.
🔸 Power Platform Dev Weekly: a Substack newsletter by Danish Naglekar with articles and videos for developers on current and upcoming Power Platform features.
2. Follow the official sources.
🔸 Microsoft Power Platform blog: announcements and feature deep dives from the product teams.
🔸 Release plans: what is planned for each release wave, with expected dates for preview and general availability.
🔸 Released versions: release notes for the versions that are being rolled out.
🔸 Message center in the Microsoft 365 admin center: change notices and deprecations for your tenant (admins).
3. Block a fixed slot.
🔸 Read the newsletters and skim the official sources once a week, for example Monday morning, and note anything that affects your own apps and flows.
🎉 Result
You hear about new features, changes and deprecations in time, without searching through dozens of blogs every week.
🌟 Key Advantages
🔸 Curated: community editors pick the useful articles and videos.
🔸 Official where it matters: product changes come straight from Microsoft.
🔸 Predictable effort: one fixed slot per week.
🛠️ FAQ
1. Are these newsletters free?
Yes. Subscribing to both Substack newsletters is free, and you can unsubscribe from every issue.
2. Which newsletter should I pick?
Power Platform Weekly covers makers, admins and the whole platform. Power Platform Dev Weekly focuses on pro developers (PCF, Dataverse plug-ins, ALM, APIs). If you build both apps and code, subscribe to both.
3. Where do I see changes that affect my own tenant?
In the Message center of the Microsoft 365 admin center. Admins can also have weekly digests of Message center posts sent by email.
