JSON Validator

Validate, format and minify JSON, fast and without upload, right in your browser.

The JSON validator tells you whether your JSON is valid and in which line the error is. Common mistakes such as a trailing comma, unquoted keys or single quotes can be fixed for you, only outside of strings, and the tool lists what it changed. When formatting, numbers stay exactly as they are in the text.

Open JSON Validator

Free. You enter your email address once, then all tools are unlocked. Your data is processed locally in your browser.

How it works

  1. Paste JSON or upload a file.
  2. Validate and check the error line and suggested fix.
  3. Beautify or minify and copy the result.

Example: error found and fixed

// Input (with error)
{"name":"Contoso","active":true,}

// Suggestion (trailing comma removed)
{
  "name": "Contoso",
  "active": true
}

Frequently asked questions

Is the JSON validator free?

Yes.

Is my data uploaded?

No, validation happens locally in your browser.

Does the auto-fix change my values?

No. Fixes only apply outside of strings, and the box shows what was changed. "True story" stays "True story".

Can I minify JSON?

Yes, with Minify. Beautify makes it readable again. Both always use the current text.

What about very large numbers?

The text view keeps numbers unchanged. If an integer is larger than Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER, the tool warns you, because JavaScript and Power Automate may round it.

What do I use this for in Power Automate?

Before Parse JSON you catch errors in the data early.
