HTTP Request Builder
Build HTTP requests and get cURL, the HTTP action for Power Automate and an OpenAPI definition.
Method, URL, headers (as a JSON object) and body in one place. The snippets are generated as you type, without sending. That matters, because Dataverse, SharePoint and many other APIs block browser calls via CORS. The body can be JSON or text. In the OpenAPI an Authorization header becomes securityDefinitions instead of a value, and query parameters are included.
Open HTTP Request BuilderFree. You enter your email address once, then all tools are unlocked. The snippets are built locally in your browser, only Send Request sends the request to the target API.
How it works
- Enter method, URL, headers and body.
- Copy the snippets for cURL, Power Automate and OpenAPI.
- Optionally send the request live, without real tokens.
Example: PATCH to the Dataverse Web API
curl -X PATCH "https://org.crm.dynamics.com/api/data/v9.2/accounts(00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001)" \
-H "Accept: application/json" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name": "Contoso Ltd"}'Frequently asked questions
Is the request builder free?
Yes.
Is my input sent anywhere?
Only when you click Send Request. The request then goes straight from your browser to the target API, including all headers. Do not enter real tokens or passwords for that. The snippets are generated without sending.
Why does the live test fail?
Usually CORS: many APIs do not allow calls from the browser. The snippets are still correct.
Which methods are supported?
GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE and HEAD.
How do I enter headers?
As a JSON object, for example {"Accept": "application/json"}. The tool adds Content-Type for a JSON body.
Which action is this for?
For the premium HTTP action in Power Automate. For Microsoft Graph the HTTP with Microsoft Entra ID connector is often simpler (tip 138).
